Account deletion
You can ask us to delete your Life Legacy account and personal information under our control.
Effective 7 August 2026
1. Send a request
Email support@lifelegacy.co.za from the address associated with your account and use the subject “Life Legacy account deletion”. Include your name and the memorial or order reference, if available. Do not send passwords, activation codes or full payment-card information.
2. Identity and authority checks
We will verify your identity and, where a shared memorial is involved, your authority before removing access or information. This protects other family members, contributors and the integrity of a memorial.
3. What deletion covers
Deletion covers your account access and personal information that we no longer need or have lawful grounds to retain. You may ask us to remove your own submitted content. A request by one participant does not automatically delete an entire shared memorial or material belonging to other contributors.
4. Information we may retain
We may retain limited transaction, invoice, fraud-prevention, dispute, security and compliance records where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. Where practical, information no longer needed in identifiable form will be deleted or de-identified.
5. Payments and plaques
Deleting an account does not automatically cancel a plaque order, reverse a completed payment or create a refund. Payment cancellation and refund requests are handled separately under our refund policy. We will explain any active order or payment implications before completing deletion.
6. Completion
We will acknowledge your request, tell you if more information is needed and confirm when the request is completed or explain what must lawfully be retained. Deletion is permanent and some backup copies may remain temporarily until routine secure deletion cycles complete.
7. Privacy rights
